Zubissou Sounds
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 July 2026
Zubissou Sounds is a personal music-listening room built by one person. It is the inverse of a
data-harvesting feed: it collects as little as it can, sells nothing, and shows no ads.
Who runs this
Zubissou Sounds is an independent, non-commercial project created and operated by Zubair Jeewanjee.

What we access, and why
- Your Spotify account — when you press Connect, Spotify asks your permission and gives the app a
token. We use it only to: read your profile (name, and whether the account is Premium, which Spotify
requires for playback), see what's currently playing, and control playback on your own devices. You can
revoke this at any time in your Spotify account settings.
- Approximate location — with your browser's permission, to show local weather and time so the room
can read your moment. If you decline, the room approximates by network region. Location is used live and
is not stored on any server.
- Your listening preferences — the dials you turn, tracks you like or skip, and play history. This
lives in your own browser (local storage). If you choose to sync across your devices, it is stored
privately in our cloud, associated only with your Spotify user ID, and never shared.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. Ever.
- We do not show advertising.
- We do not build a marketing profile of you or track you across other sites.
- We do not store your Spotify password — sign-in happens entirely on Spotify's own pages.
Services the room talks to
To do its job the app makes requests to a small set of third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Spotify — playback and your account (their policy).
- Open-Meteo — weather and air quality (no account, no personal data sent beyond coarse coordinates).
- Genius, Wikipedia, LRCLIB, MusicBrainz — song context and lyrics, queried by track title only.
- Cloudflare — hosting and the optional cross-device memory store.
Cookies & storage
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The app stores settings and your sign-in token in your
browser's local storage so the room remembers your preferences. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Your choices
- Disconnect Spotify at any time from your Spotify account's app settings.
- Erase local data by clearing site data in your browser.
- Delete cloud memory — email the address above and we'll remove the record tied to your Spotify ID.
Children
Zubissou Sounds is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above changes with it. Material changes will be noted on the site.
This is a plain-English privacy policy for a small personal project, provided in good faith. It is not legal
advice. — Zubissou Sounds · operated by Zubair Jeewanjee · gooneglobal@gmail.com
